People across the world are using the hashtag #RenewDocMcStuffins to spread the word about the recent news that Disney Junior has not renewed the fifth season of Doc McStuffins.
If you have not seen this show it features a young, black female doctor who looks after her toys. It’s hugely popular as it’s about one of the few kids shows that feature a black female star.

Comedian Bell tweeted that the show had yet to be confirmed for another season. In a article written for LA Review of Books back in 2015, Bell called the show’s Dottie “Doc” McStuffins, “the Olivia Pope of children’s television.”
Bell urges everyone to tweet at the network using the hashtag #RenewDocMcStuffins.

Fast forward to now, and we have good news. Disney Junior announced late last year that its popular show “Doc McStuffins” has been renewed for season five, which will start airing in 2018.
The show’s director, Chris Nee, tweeted the news and thanked everyone who fought to renew the show, and Bell who started the hashtag.
