Moms Plea for Donations To Get Her Son To Boston For a Life Saving Operation

A Mom’s heartbreaking plea on social media to get more donations to get her son, Caylum Willemse, to a doctor in Boston. A doctor who is the only one able to complete this life saving procedure. Caylum was born with tracheooesophageal fistula (TOF) and oesophageal atresia (OA). He was later diagnosed with tracheobronchomalacia, a rare condition where the tracheal (windpipe) cartilage is soft.

He had his first surgery at only 2 days old and has spent the most of his short life in hospital. Caylum has 70% collapse in his left main bronchus leading to the lung and has been resuscitated more than ten times in his little life. He has now been in ICU since 9th May.

The 94.7 Breakfast Xpress Team heard about Caylum’s Call and thanks to them, they have helped raise further funds.

***UPDATE*** Donations So Far
Thanks to Jerome Pillay R10 000
Granite Construction R20 000
Bidvest Food Ingredients Division R50 000
Odette Schwegler R10 000
Dr Glenn Staples from MSO a subsidiary of EOH, with their intervention they could possibly get the cost slashed by 60%. If that is possible we wont be far off the target.
